- 60–75 % قيس الكنبة مش الحيطة.Measure the sofa, not the wall.

- 8 cm المعتمد عندنا. المدى ٥–١٠.Our house default. Range 5–10.

01 · Height
الارتفاعHanging height
أشهر غلطة في مصر: التعليق عاليThe most common mistake here: hanging too high
أغلب الناس بتعلّق على ارتفاع إيدها وهي واقفة — يعني حوالي ١٧٠ سم لمركز اللوحة. ده عالي بـ ٢٠ سم على الأقل. المتحف بيعلّق مركز العمل على 145 إلى 152 سم من الأرض، وده مستوى نظر متوسط الطول، وهو الرقم اللي المصمّمين بيشتغلوا بيه فعلًا.Most people hang at the height of their own raised hand — roughly 170 cm to the centre. That's at least 20 cm too high. Galleries centre a work at 145–152 cm from the floor, which is average standing eye level, and it's the number designers actually work to.
فوق الكنبة القاعدة بتتغيّرAbove furniture, the rule changes
دي النقطة اللي أغلب الأدلة بتلخبط فيها. لو اللوحة طويلة وحطّيتها على مركز ١٥٠، هتلزق في ظهر الكنبة. القاعدة اللي بتشتغل فوق الأثاث مختلفة:This is where most guides fudge it. If the piece is tall and you force a 150 cm centre, it collides with the sofa back. Above furniture the working rule is different:
المعادلةThe formula
أسفل البرواز = ارتفاع ظهر الكنبة + ١٥ إلى ٢٥ سم. سيب مركز اللوحة يطلع لوحده. مع كنبة ظهرها ٨٥ سم ولوحة ١٢٠ سم طول، المركز بيقع حوالي ١٦٥ سم — وده مظبوط، لأن قاعدة الـ ١٥٠ للحيطة الفاضية.Bottom of frame = height of the sofa back + 15–25 cm. Let the centre land where it lands. With an 85 cm sofa back and a 120 cm tall piece, the centre sits near 165 cm — and that is correct, because the 150 cm rule is for free walls.

ملاحظة مهمة على القراءةHow to read the numbers
المقاس الواحد بيخدم الاتجاهين. «70×100» في تابلوه طولي معناها عرض ٧٠ سم على الحيطة، وفي تابلوه عرضي معناها عرض ١٠٠ سم. اتأكد من اتجاه التصميم قبل ما تحسب التغطية.One size string serves both orientations. On a portrait piece, “70×100” spans 70 cm across the wall; on a landscape piece the same string spans 100 cm. Check the orientation before you calculate coverage.

03 · Sets
الستّاتSets of two, three & six
حساب الست: العرض الكلي مش مجموع القطعSet maths: total width isn't just the panels
الناس بتحسب ٣ × ٥٠ = ١٥٠ سم وتنسى الفراغات. الفراغات بتزوّد ١٦ سم في ست الثلاثة. الجدول ده محسوب على المسافة المعتمدة عندنا وهي ٨ سم.People calculate 3 × 50 = 150 cm and forget the gaps — which add 16 cm on a set of three. This table is computed at our house gap of 8 cm.

مثال: كنبة ٢٢٠ سم. المدى المطلوب ١٣٢–١٦٥ سم. ست ٣ × 50×70 بتديك ١٦٦ سم — على الحد الأعلى بالظبط وهي أفضل اختيار. ست ٣ × 40×60 بتديك ١٣٦ سم، برضه صح بس أهدى.Example: a 220 cm sofa needs a 132–165 cm span. Three 50×70 panels give 166 cm — right at the top of the range, and the better choice. Three 40×60 give 136 cm: also correct, just quieter.
فرق مهمAn important distinction
لو الست ثلاث تصميمات مختلفة — سيب ٨ سم. لو الست صورة واحدة متقسّمة على ٣ براويز، قرّب المسافة لـ ٤–٥ سم عشان العين تقراها كقطعة واحدة مش تلات حاجات.If the set is three distinct designs, leave 8 cm. If it's one image split across three frames, tighten to 4–5 cm so the eye reads one piece rather than three.

الجاليري وولThe gallery wall

مش «رتّبهم بذوقك». دي تلات تخطيطات محسوبة من مقاساتنا، وكل واحد فيهم بإحداثيات تقدر تعلّمها على الحيطة بالمتر والقلم. كل الإحداثيات من الركن الأعلى للمجموعة.Not “arrange them pleasingly.” Three layouts computed from our sizes, each with coordinates you can mark out with a tape and a pencil. All coordinates are from the top-left corner of the group.

أبسط تخطيط وأقلهم مخاطرة: ٣ × 40×60 في صف واحد، مسافة ٨ سم، الكل على مركز ١٥٠. المجموعة ١٣٦ سم — مثالية فوق كونسول ١٢٠–١٤٠ سم أو في ممر.The simplest and lowest-risk layout: three 40×60 in a single row, 8 cm apart, all centred at 150 cm. The block is 136 cm — ideal over a 120–140 cm console, or in a hallway.

05 · Finish
لون البروازFrame finish
سبع ألوان — واحد بس صح لأوضتكSeven finishes, one right answer
اختار البرواز على أساس خشب الأوضة، مش على أساس ألوان التابلوه. البرواز جزء من الأثاث، مش جزء من الصورة.Choose the frame to match the room's woodwork, not the artwork's palette. A frame belongs to the furniture, not to the picture.
قاعدة الجاليري وولThe gallery-wall rule
لون برواز واحد لكل المجموعة، أو اتنين بحد أقصى. تلاتة فأكتر بتحوّل الحيطة لزحمة مهما كانت التصميمات حلوة.One frame finish across the whole group, or two at most. Three or more turns the wall into noise, however good the artwork is.
كانفاس بدون بروازUnframed canvas
للمقاسات الكبيرة والستايل المودرن. أخف في الوزن وأنضف على الحيطة البيضا.For large statement sizes and modern rooms. Lighter, and cleaner on a white wall.
ذهبيGold
الاختيار الأول للخط العربي والآيات. بيشتغل مع الحوائط البيج والكريم والأثاث الكلاسيك.The first choice for Arabic calligraphy. Works with beige and cream walls and classic furniture.
شامبينChampagne
ذهبي أهدى. لما الأوضة فاتحة والذهبي الصريح بيبقى تقيل عليها.A quieter gold — for pale rooms where full gold reads too heavy.
بيج أوكBeige oak
للستايل الاسكندنافي والبوهو. يناسب الخشب الفاتح والأوضة اللي فيها نباتات.For Japandi, boho and Scandi rooms — pairs with light wood and plants.
بنيBrown
الأكثر أمانًا في الريسبشن المصري الكلاسيك بخشبه الغامق.The safest pick in a classic Egyptian reception with dark woodwork.
أسودBlack
تباين عالي وحواف حادّة. الأنسب للبوسترات والتصوير والستايل الجرافيك.High contrast, hard edges — best for posters, photography, graphic work.
أبيضWhite
لأوضة الأطفال والمساحات الصغيرة، وللشبكات فوق حيطة ملوّنة.For children's rooms, small spaces, and grids on a coloured wall.
06 · Method
التنفيذBefore the hammer
اعمل الحيطة بالورق قبل الشاكوشBuild the wall in paper before you pick up a hammer
دي الخطوة اللي بتفرق بين حيطة مظبوطة وحيطة فيها خمس خرم مش مستعملة. بتاخد عشر دقايق.This is the step between a wall that looks right and a wall with five unused holes in it. It takes ten minutes.

قصّ ورق بمقاس كل بروازCut paper to each frame's size
ورق كرافت أو جرنان. اكتب على كل ورقة المقاس عشان متلخبطش.Kraft paper or newspaper. Write the size on each sheet so you don't mix them up.

علّم خط المركز على الحيطةMark the centre line
١٥٠ سم من الأرض بالقلم الرصاص، أو أعلى الكنبة + ٢٠ سم لو فيه أثاث.150 cm from the floor in pencil — or top of sofa + 20 cm if there's furniture.

الزق الورق بلزق ورقي وابعدTape the paper up, then step back
اقعد على الكنبة وبصّ. ده الوضع اللي هتشوف بيه الحيطة كل يوم، مش وانت واقف قدامها.Sit on the sofa and look. That's how you'll see this wall every day — not standing in front of it.

دقّ المسمار من خلال الورقDrive the nail through the paper
علّم مكان علّاقة البرواز على الورقة نفسها، دقّ، وبعدين قطّع الورق واسحبه.Mark the hanger position on the sheet itself, drive the nail, then tear the paper away.
ستة أخطاء بنشوفها كل أسبوعSix mistakes we see every week
الحيطة ممكن تبقى ٤ متر والكنبة ١٨٠ سم. The wall may be 4 m and the sofa 180 cm. الأثاث هو المرجع.The furniture is the reference.
مركز على ١٧٠ سم بيخلّي اللوحة «طايرة». A 170 cm centre leaves the piece floating. انزل لـ ١٥٠.Come down to 150.
50×70 فوق كنبة ٣ مقاعد بتبان زي طابع بريد. A 50×70 over a 3-seater looks like a postage stamp. اطلع مقاس أو اتنين.Go up one or two sizes.
العين بتمسك فرق سنتيمتر واحد في الست. The eye catches a one-centimetre difference in a set. استعمل قطعة كرتون ٨ سم كفاصل ثابت.Use an 8 cm cardboard spacer.
ذهبي وأسود وبني في نفس المجموعة. Gold, black and brown in one group. لون واحد، أو اتنين بحد أقصى.One finish, two at most.
أول خرم غلط بيغيّر التخطيط كله. The first wrong hole changes the whole layout. الورق الأول، دايمًا.Paper first, always.
