Islamic Wall Frame – فإنك بأعيننا | Shadow Gallery

This one is composed like a corner of a room rather than a flat panel. An oak slat panel fills the left third of the canvas, the rest is a deep charcoal field, and along the base runs a stone ledge carrying two pale pottery vessels, the taller one holding dried branches. The calligraphy is set across the dark side in cream — a small line above, «فإنك بأعيننا» large at the centre, and a closing line beneath. Because the wood and the pottery are printed into the artwork itself, it reads as an extension of the room instead of a picture hung on it, and the panoramic width is made for a long console, a media unit or a sofa wall.
