A single line of black calligraphy runs right across the middle of a heavily worked plaster ground — «ما شاء الله تبارك الله» — with every vowel mark drawn in. The surface is cream and grey through the upper half and warms through gold-beige into amber and rust along the bottom third, with knife strokes and ridges left standing so the light catches unevenly across it. One line of writing and one colour of ink make this among the quietest pieces in the range: the texture carries the interest and the calligraphy simply sits on it.
