Coffee and Books Poster

A black cup on a black saucer stands on a warm wood shelf beside an open book, and the steam rising from it is drawn as long ribbons of cream, tan and amber curling up through the top half. Behind them the background breaks into flat panels of charcoal, rust, olive and sand, collaged with a faint printed texture, and a row of small book spines runs along the bottom edge. The steam is really the composition and the objects are almost incidental, which is why it reads as well as an abstract as it does as a still life. Sizes from 40×60 cm up to 120×180 cm.
