The ground is built as a collage: layers of lace and mesh texture, geometric grids, compass rosettes and dotted copper panels, printed over one another in cream, grey, warm brown and ochre until the surface looks like a wall that has been papered several times. Brown leafy vines curl in from the edges, and the verse is written across the middle in the same brown, with a small signature mark beneath it.

There is a lot happening here, which is the point — it reads as an antique document rather than a clean modern print. Best given a plain wall so the layering has room. Available from 50×70 cm up to 120×180 cm, as unframed canvas or framed in oak, black, white, brown, gold or champagne.
